Well crap....water leak I think

I went out today to check on my 98 Trophy 1200 and found it'd left me a wet present on the floor. I need to tear into it a little bit just to get a better look of it as I've only recently bought it.

I think perhaps it's coming from the water hose on the left side below the head, I don't see anything wet above that point(so hopefully it's not a head gasket). Also looks like maybe some wetness around where the clutch slave cylinder is at....looks like it maybe a little busier winter than I had planned.

Advice taken here guys

If your overflow hose is routed to that general area and your coolant reservoir was topped up lately, it may be nothing. If not, it may be that your water pump is shot. Less likely, but still possible, is a bad water pump gasket.

It's a huge pain to look for, but there should be a weep hole on the bottom of the water pump that leaks when the seals are done. If coolant is coming from the weep hole, you need to replace the pump. If coolant is leaking from the interface between the pump cover and the pump itself, you probably just need the gasket.

Cheers,
-Kit

I just need to pull the fairing off the left side and get a good look. The pump cover gasket or pump its self may be leaking, but there is definately a leak coming from higher up on the engine I can see a trickle down the block. I THINK it's just a little gasket there leaking, it looks a little suspect to me.

Bike bandit's part number is 1379465 for what I think is bad, a crazy $1.11 gasket...hope that's all it is. Is there an alternative to the $265 oem water pump?
