Hi all ! I'm going to change my tires, because they are worn and I ride my bike all year , including winter. When i start to look for tires I found a new unknown brand - "Shinko" - made in Korea and they are at a very good prize. The salesman tell me that this tires are good known in the USA. Does anybody know something more about this tires? Are they really good? :???:

I have never heard of "Shinko" tires. I have heard of "Chinsen". I was told once- never buy a tire whose name sounds like breaking glass. I think the salesman is trying to make a sale.

I have had very good performance out of the Bridgestone Battleaxe. On other motorcycles, I had good performance out of Metzler (tubeless-no experience with the radials) and Dunlops (same notation). The owner's manual for your machine has several good recomendations for tires. I would stick to these.

I have no experience with them but I did see a thread recently on Maximum Suzuki about them. That might be worth a quick read. I'm not trying to promote another site, just passing on some info.

Your fuel economy (5lit/100 km !) seems to suggest that you are a somewhat sedate rider, so if it's budget constraints that drive you why not give these Japanese/Korean tires a go.

I personally would stay with Bridgestone for the Sprint. However the original owner of my Sprint fitted a Michelin Macadam at the rear and the darn thing doesn't seem to wear at all ! As a consequence grip isn't always ideal though. The front BT56 is more worn but still looks like it needs to be futher run in, I've only just started to round it off a bit.

I have no idea how the brand you propose behaves in the grip vs wear department. Didn't find any tests of the brand on-line but it does seem to be gaining ground in the tireworld...

I have read reports (not many to be found) that these are actually pretty decent tires. They are made on I'm told Yokohama molds. Mostly known here for their racing tire line especially their drag slicks. Anyway I found a killer deal here on their 'Street' versions and I've ordered a set to try on my 'RS' I have Avons on right now so if they have pretty big shoes to fill! Price was $155.00 set delerved! If they suck....I'll say so.

Thanks for information. May be I'm going to try this tires. After all they are so many good thinks coming from China, Korea and Japan. And I see that all this Shinko tires are coming with "W" speed index and they have good looking protector.

I buy new Shinko tires for my bike three weeks ago. Price 165 Euro for a set. Already have 500 km on it. I'm very pleased with there performance - very good grip and excellence stability in the high speed turns. This is my first impression. When i get covered more km with them i write hire again for more information.

Which model did you purchase? The 09 Street touring (longest wear) or the 05 Street/ Sport model. Just curious. I havent mounted mine yet. I figure the foul weather will be here soon and I want to get the rims powder coated to match the bike first so still have no first hand experience. I opted for the 09 version. I was curious what kind of mileage I would get as I know what I got with the 020's (good mileage, ***** tire) and the Avon 45/46. (great tire!)

Hi all,
I've got covered 5000 km on my new Shinko tires and I'm very pleased. Good performance ad good grip. Tire compound is soft and gets good grip at low temperature. Tires are little worn out. At this point I think they will cover about 15000km, but who knows. I'll write again.
