Howdy again, Sprintster! What you are describing sounds like a rapid "gripping, then slipping"of the clutch discs. It is possible that the driven plates are glazing over, and may need replacing. Before you consider doing so, I would suggest you check the type of motor oil you're using. The early Sprint/Trident/Trophy uses semi synthetic oil, NOT full synthetic. Full synthetic is too slippery, and will cause the clutch to slip/shutter upon engagement.............
