Rear sprocket size

Whats people thoughts out there on number of teeth for the rear sprocket, my '99 900 got 43 seems a bit jerky at low speeds. Has anyone put a 46 on?

At my last sprocket change I added 2 teeth, it's a 45, and love the change. The need to slip the clutch a bit with a load is gone and it's just a lot more fun to ride. Fuel milage has suffered accordingly. I doubt that top speed has changed, I think these bikes hit the wall before the engine runs out of revs. I typically run out of nerve. The bike's great to (a true) 120 mph, 125+ is another story.
