HI all
i have a '99 sport & it doesnt have centre stand, my question is if i get one will it bolt straight on? will i have all the correct mounts on my sport? Also need to get new front pads,any makes you can recommend.

The only difference between a Sport and a regular Sprint that would affect a centerstand is the exhaust pipes, which sweep up higher. Now that I think of it, the pegs might be different too. Someone on the Daytona forum might know, since the Sport uses the Daytona pipes and, possibly, pegs as well.

Edit: You have a '99? I'd think that would be a Sprint ST, not a T3 (early) Sprint. Sorry for not noticing that before firing off my big mouth!

I have same bike as you & have fitted centre stand. All the mountings are on the bike & stand springs spacers bolts etc available from Triumph. I think the whole lot came to about £100. I had to look hard to see where to fit the springs, they are streched a lot & hook into holes high on the rear engine plates. This is the only fiddly part. Sprint manufacturing has started listing pattern stands. Yhe stand is well worth fitting & it is not difficult to hoist bike on to it, and boy does it make servicing easier!
You will not need to modify footrests, but with upswept sport exhausts, there is nothing for the stand to stop against. I have used a jubilee clip surrounded with silicone rubber tubing as a temoprary measure pending something more elegant

How long have you had your 900sport? any problems?
Does yours suffer from a ratterly alternator?

re Triumph ant, they are worth trying, but when I asked they said that you would be lucky to catch one as they are a bit popular. Also Sprint manufacturing have started doing a pattern one but price is not far off genune, check for yourself though. Another point is that you need a grab handle as all there is to grab is plastic. Genuine one is about £30, which is a bit steep for what it is. I did buy one & because of modular design, holes are already drilled in frame.

I have had my sport for 18 months and love it, no problems at all. The weight took a lot of getting used to but the way everything works togetrher makes it a joy to ride. The only thing I couldnt put up with was the lower handlebars & I swapped these for trophy ones from Triumph ant. I can now be comfortable for 8 hours plus no problem

good to see your enjoying your 'sport'. I think the same I'm real pleased with mine, I found the bars just right for me ,I think being 6'4" helps.I have fitted a touring screen(got it from M&P)it really has help keep that wind off.I have found though that the front folks do dive a bit under braking, I've got that set to standard, have you found a setting for the folks that work well?

I also have a Sprint Sports. I've just fitted a "touring" screen on mine. I'm still getting used to it (much taller). I'm trying to move the air turbulance away from my helmet to reduce the wind noise, in Florida the air on the chest is a welcome effect most of the time.

It's a great bike and is really stable on the sweepers. Since the Sports has fully adjustable front suspension, try cranking up the compression dampening a notch at a time. You should be able to reduce some of the nose dive. Check your owner's manual for the wheres and hows. :-D

In the states the year on the registration is the "Model year".
I beleive in England the year on the registration is the year it was registered. Hense in the states the Sprint Sports is only a 1998, in England it can be a 1997 - 1999.
