Just got my first Triumph and am really chuffed lovely looking and goes well. Only downside is price of parts. The right hand side silencer on my bike is scuffed and is the only bad bit on it and takes the look of it. so I got a bit of a shock when I found out that a replacement silencer for this machine is £260. I want to keep it original, any ideas where I can get a good second hand one?

Keep your eye on eBay. Also, there are some aftermarket silencers that you can pop right on, and probably won't cost as much, except then you'll be buying two. You've already done the right thing by asking on this site as somebody here may have what you need. Good luck with your "new" bike, and welcome to the group.

I hope that this thought helps until you find a new silencer.

well all i can say is that any of the early hinckley built triumphs that havent been dropped on their right side are very rare machines.

try fitting some r&g exhaust armour if the damage is where the can/linkpipe is welded together.

as for ebay,i just bought and fitted a full yoshi race system for £200 and in all honesty my triumph sounds like a bike and not a diesel!

Cheers mate appreciate your reply, suppose there is no big fuss now to get a new silencer.
