There's a very clean looking red Sprint Sport on ebay - asking price 1450 with 11k miles on it and all the old MOTs - if I hadn't just bought one and lavished hours of time doing the forks I would be up to Liverpool like a shot to have a good look at this.

Ahem, that'll be my new bike then :-). You might be happy to know I'm just replacing the loom as it was butchered by the meta alarm installer.

Is it reasonably sound apart from that? certainly looked pretty good on ebay, but then photos can hide a multitude of sins

It's orignal, genuine mileage and in good nick. It's quite dusty and could do with a proper clean. I want to give the engine a full service, and I noticed that it had a sticky float as there was a bit of fuel dribbling onto my tarmac.............probably lack of use. The alarm was the only real naff bit............I started stripping it out, and realised that the alarm fitter had cut out chunks out of loom, so as I said, I'm just going to replace it........I've never been happy with alarms anyway. I really don't have a clue as to it's value, it just looked good to me. My other bikes are t'birds, and I wanted something with a fairing that I know I can work on.
