Best sparkplug or Upgrade Sparkplug for '95 Speed Triple

What would you recommend as the best sparkplug for this machine?

I've used Iridium and Splitfire plus the standard NGK's and all work well TBH standard plugs work just as well as the other stuff ;-)

Cheers

I`d say the same, standard NGK plugs work well, don`t cost a fortune.

Fancy plugs are all well and good when speaking to your mates saying "i`ve got this and that on my bike" but at the end of the day it`s a lot of cock waving and all you bike needs is a decent reliable spark. Save the extra money, buy fuel/gas and get out and enjoy your bike.

What Mot & Matt said. Fancy plugs don't do much one way or the other on the T3s. (And anecdotal evidence says they hurt performance on the T6s.)

I was having some minor fouling issues with the stock NGK's so thought I would try something different. I put Iridiums in there yesterday.

Vox,

Sparkplug fouling generally signals other problems. For example, your carbs may be running too lean or rich. Fix the underlying problem and a sparkplug issue usually goes away. Just did the same on my D12 with a re-jet.

Understood, but my jetting is per the manual and the carbs only have 5000 miles on them. Also, I don't believe sparkplugs fouling would be caused by a lean condition.

This is very interesting to me. Last fall I fouled a plug 2,000 miles into a 4,500 mile road trip. The plugs were the basic NGKs with about 5000 miles on them. My only carb changes are one size larger on the main jets and fuel screw out about 2.5 turns, very common fueling changes for a US bike. I had decided that perhaps I could have coil problems. Oil consumption is minimal.

Side note, my 400cc dirt bike would occasionally foul the cheap NGK plug in cold weather riding (too lazy to rejet for a few hours of riding). I switched to an NGK Iridium plug and the problem has not reoccurred.
