erm - something a little louder perhaps?
Although my std silencers are not that silent (not sure whether they are stock or not) they are the black upswept Sprint Sport jobbies - are there some "silencers" which sound even more throaty/deeper/louder? which makes work well? any rejetting required? I don't want a 3 into 1, just bung a set of silly silencers on when the mood takes, then bung the std ones back on for the MOT

Just bought a can from these guys:
http://www.beowulf-performance-products.com/
UK made, quality looks good, lifetime warranty & keen prices. With (removable) baffles, claimed to be street legal. Very helpful people - made a special link pipe for me.
Not been out for a ride yet, but nice deep tone when I ran it on the stand.

I had a set of carbon Microns on my '97 Sprint. I had to fit a Dynojet kit, and then they worked well. Sounded great! (But not as good as my 120 Jota!)

cheers NB - just had a look - I think Micron have now gone bust, though that wouldn't stop me buying them, but they don't do much for me.
I did ride a Sprint 900 with Beowulf cans on it when I first came across a Sprint 900 - omigawd it was loud!! I think I need to ring beowulf

How about these Motad silencers for 99 pounds (starting bid) on UK Ebay?

Dunno if you can find 'em on your side of the pond, but D&D are extremely loud. Nice tone too.

Seumas is right about D&D having a rep for loud. Here is a Sprint Sport with D&D exhaust on YouTube and also their internet page.

http://www.danddexhaust.com/catalog/triumph/
Even if you do not see your bike in their catalog, they still might have it. They do for the D1200 and it is not listed.
There are video/sound clips for some bike models. Click the motorcycle model photo and check to see if there is a "Video" clickable for it. For a lark, listen to that red Thruxton TT Race exhaust. Wild!
But how about those noise regulations on your side of the pond? Sometimes I see guys say they will put the stock exhaust on for their "MOT", but over here you can be stopped any time. However, in the U.S. you really have to be loud to get stopped, so it is generally not a worry.

I just put a set of Staintunes on my Trident and with the baffles out you can see heads turning as I approach from all sides. I'm a little worried that it might be too much, but it is a glorious roar on the throttle and a beautiful crackle when coming off the noise. No jetting required, 5 minutes to fir mufflers and remove baffles.
