Eh? Think you are pondering the wrong state ref. NC. And be nice and forget such stereotypes, or we won't let you come here and ride on our mountain roads....

We'll let you go this time, seein' as you're from a city that bastard Sherman burned, but you might want to add your location to your profile.

(Don't let the name fool you; I spent a lot of time in my teenage years drinking in the cemetery where Jefferson Davis is buried!)

Cheers,
-Kit

Don't think many NC/SC/GA riders were out today....3 more inches of snow. Oh, well, could be worse...I could have taken that job in Eden Prairie, Minnesota....

I grew up near Eden Prairie and now live about an hour south of there. I spent 4 hours yesterday plowing snow so that I could get to my firewood. We won't see 70F for 2 more months...
I guess that gives me a little more time to put my bike back together.

Derswede, keep combing the web for engine deals...I need one.
Thanks.

Mozart Deuce, my heart goes out for you....it gets COLD up your way. Did some work in Drummondville, PQ Canada and froze my clutch & brake fluids....I think I LIKE NC...

As for the engine, what are you looking for? Just saw a 955 "crate engine" advertised locally....

I saw your Craigslist thread in Daytona Deliberations for the 955 crate engine. I'm designing a street-legal 3-wheeler (2 in front, 1 in back) for a high-mileage engineering competition. Since the engine doesn't need to fit into any specific bike I can design the frame around the engine, so I'm pretty open when it comes to the powerplant. I currently have my eye on a 2007 XR650L engine locally. The advantage to that is no water cooling, etc. which makes it pretty basic and easy to work into just about any design package. That also should give me fairly good gas mileage. If this project works out, my next one will be higher performance - perhaps something along the lines of a T-Rex...(sure would like the 1200 engine for that one).

Final bid with less than 10 seconds was $2210, 10 more than my amount. Reserve was not met!
