Trident 900 Corbin seat size

Hello folks! I am trying to buy a Corbin seat for my '98 Trident 900. Corbin are asking if this is the same size as the '96 model ( i guess thats the one their seat is modelled on). The local Triumph dealer cannot seem to confirm this (I thought it would be a simple question?) as they need a VIN number for both years to be able to check a part number.

I know the tail light was changed from rectangle to oval in these years but does any wise soul out there know if the seats are the same for each (same subframe mountings etc etc) ? Thanks much

Seat should be the same, Triumph has it broken down by VIN 55071 and below and 55072 and above, but lists the same 4 seats for both VIN ranges. That is to say, there are 4 different seats for the Trident and all 4 fit both the older (square taillight) and newer (round taillight) bodywork.

It is a simple question for people who can look at more than one parts fiche and compare numbers, but that seems to be too much to ask from some of these parts people...

Cheers,
-Kit

Trident 900 Corbin Seat

Hey Frisbo,
If you go through with this purchase, could you PM me about the details? I also have a 98 Trident 900, Black with Maroon tank swoosh. My seat has a small tear at the left edge, under my leg. I considered replacing but...

Anyway, let me know, even with generalities if you don't mind.

As I recall, the Omaha Triumph dealer could look at a part number and tell you all of the bikes that part fits, but the counter man would have to know that the software can do that.

Good luck with Corbin service. They didn't have any when I tried to deal with them a few years ago. Have you considered Sargent seats?

Thanks to you kind Trident folks

Great info from you all - thanks so much.

Kit : I agree, what ever happened to actually understanding the bikes under the Brand you work eh?

Will let you know how I get on with Corbin. I am in Fla next month and may get one delivered (if in stock).

Cheers
