front rake

is there a reason our bikes had a long rake on them compared to later model bikes? was it for comfort? i think its the only thing that makes the early daytonas dated..

I'd hazard a guess that newer bikes tend to use less rake to increase front end stiffness (shorter forks), changing offset to compensate & maintain similar trail dimensions. Less rake might reduce brake dive a little too?

colinmartin, The gist from what I read in the magazines about the '91 reintroduction of Triumph suggested a very conservative approach across the entire line.

The second generation Daytona was an attempt to compete with the 929 and 954 Honda, which meant a less conservative design.
