new engine

Hi there

Of course this option may be out of the question if you're trying to keep costs down to a minimum, but there's a company in Wales that have a warehouse that's full of engines and other spares for early Hinckley bikes http://www.triumph-ant.co.uk/

What happened - she throw a rod, blow a main bearing - sprag pop the alternator!? Triumphant in wales for sure - an internet vigil too, try Triumph themselves, why not!? I feel your pain - I over rev'd to 11k on a triple and stressed a bearing into failure, clutched and caught it real quick before cases got punched out(maybe) - found a zero mile engine locally for $1500 - still strong, persevere!

GS,
I have a '99 D12 SE engine complete with harness and carbs I was going to put in a '01 955 frame. I'm planning to make the '01 into an electric bike so if your still in need of an engine let me know.
There is one fairly major issue though; the engine is at ma's house in WI, you're in CA and I'm currently in AZ. I will be stopping by mom in the middle of May though.

Triton

PS I'm not sure what numbered bike the engine is from as the guy was parting out the bike and sold the top clamp before I got to him.

tritonwow & GS,
GS gets first dibs...but if you don't want the 1200 engine, I may be interested. I live in MN so pickup would be easy. Keep me in mind.
Thanks.

Thumbs up 99 D12 SE Motor

If for any reason GS or Mozart 2 dont want or need the engine, Im very interested.
My 96 Daytona motor smokes and will need to be overhauled or replaced. I live in PA
and would be willing to pick it up.

Best Regards

Someone posted an account about a positive experience getting a used engine from Cycle Therapy. I'm sure they ship. Check wesite http://www.cycletherapy.com/

That could have been me; the motor in my '04 RS came from an '03 ST they parted. Their shipping was quite reasonable, IIRC. I would strongly suggest calling them, as their web site leaves a bit to be desired. Also, I got the impression they didn't have many Trumpets left at the time, but it was almost two years ago so who knows what they have now...

Cheers,
-Kit
