A few weeks ago I was trying to adjust my chain and could not get the eccentric cam adjusters to the right position . I puzzled over this for ages before taking the bike to another Trident owner I know. He looked at it and announced that my chain is worn out and has got past the last notch. I had been trying to line up the notches with the slot in the end of the swinging arm, rather than the scribed index mark!

Anyway, I clearly need a new chain but what size is it? My owners handbook says Regina 136 OTR but I am used to sizes like 530 so this means nothing to me. :???:

My Sprint Sports uses a 110 link 530 chain. Go for a X-Ring or an O-Ring. :hammer:

as the bike is no longer under warranty you are free to fit a decent chain like a d.i.d x ring chain or the e.k. equivilent.

that would be my chain of choice

Thanks. I've ordered a 530 by 112 Triple S O-ring chain.

You'll need to cut off 2 links. Most newer chains come with a peen-type master link, rather than the old clip-type. You'll need the appropriate tool to make the installation unless you can get a clip-type (which I still use in spite of advice to the contrary).

Pendraig,

I beg to differ, a 95 Trident 900 with stock sprockets takes a 112. I just bought one myself.

Now the new chain is on it looks like it should have been the 110 link one as it is almost at the end of the adjustment on day 1. Perhaps I have Trophy 900 gearing. When I say the new chain in on, thats not exactly true I can't get the rivet link plate to go onto the pins. The plate off the old rivet link will go on (both chains are Triple S) so I'm thinking they have supplied the wong plate. Does anyone know if these rivet links are standardised, or do you have to buy the same make of link as the chain?
