Just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Hugh, and I'm a bike nut. I just brought home yet another bike, a red Executive. I already have a 71 T100C, and two Nortons, so I really needed to have another Triumph. The kids can go barefoot for the summer, the dogs can catch rabbits, and the better half has a job, so we won't be too hungry. The important thing is the garage is now balanced! I'm vertically challenged, so I've already flipped the axle eccentrics, and will raise the forks tomorrow. It came with Staintune slip-ons, a Corbin seat, and a Throttlemeister. On top of all that, She likes it! Life is good. Since this is the newest bike I've had for years, I'll be here as a lurker, unless someone wants to know how to do it wrong. This forum really helped prior to the purchase, as I'm sure it will continue to do. Thanks!

I think you will find you like your new beast. I too moved up from vintage iron to a Sprint. Overall, it sort of reminds me of my old Brit bikes, minus the leaking and the buzzy feeling. Modern, but still enough of an oddball to be cool.

Well said PeeWee! I like the odd-ball business. And Hugh, welcome. A garage full of bikes and an understanding women. A balance in life all should shoot for.

welcome aboard mate!

its nice to see that not all americans think that harleys are the only decent bike on the road(no offence intended).

i had a honda cbr600 before my sprint sport and i'm really glad i kept the triumph, simply well built and solid with good build quality.
good all round package!!!

Well, it's been a week, so I thought I'd tell you what I've done so far. As I said, I'm vertically challenged, 5'7" on a good day. I turned the axle eccentrics to the top, which gained about an inch and a quarter, and the Corbin seat gains about an inch or so. With this done, I can get the balls of my feet firmly down. The center stand wouldn't work after these mods, so I cut an inch and an eighth off the bottom, and re welded the feet. The previous owner had dropped it on the right, so I had to repair the lever part of the stand anyhow. Lets hope this weak back can get it on the stand now. I also ordered Bridgestone 020's, which will be mounted Monday. So far I really like this bike, the Norton will be jealous! Oh yeah, the side stand lets the bike lean too far, and that is the result of the hole in the lug being oval. I guess the next project will be to make a hard bushing to tighten up the side stand. That's all for now.

Interestingly - I am also 5'7" and have found that I can flatfoot my Trident without having to adjust the concentrics. It may be that I have a long inseam (at 31") and a short body but it works for me.

I went from an 04 reg Suzuki SV650S and find the Trident a better bike to ride both handling and performance wise.

I've also noticed that the bike leans over too far and my dealer says that the bracket is bent. The dealer is going to replace it (at their cost as I've only had the bike a few days) and I hope that this should fix the lean
