suspension linkage bearings
Hi All,
Does anyone know the generic part number of the needle roller bearings in the suspension linkage arms,? I dont fancy buying the Triumph bits when my local bearing factors probably do them at half the price, I doubt with the volumes that these are captive parts so they probably appear somewhere in the RHP catalogue. I took mine to bits, one arm [ at the swingarm end ] was fine and the spindle bush came out nicely, needle rollers intact, the other wouldnt budge, when I pressed it out at work, I found that some kidnly soul had replaced the NR brgs with a brg bush, and the spindle bush itself with a home made item which had no grease hole in it, so it was siezed solid.I allowed myself a wry chuckle at this,, and contemplated fondly on the neccessity now of making a new bush with grease holes and sourcing some bearings. I think I might buy a Honda.

Now, now. Bodging by a previous owner is hardly a Triumph problem. In fact, you should see some of the things I've seen done to Hondas!
Anyway, sorry, but I can't help with the bearing number. The parts fiche sometimes lists such things, but in this case it just says "bearing, needle" and that's it. Maybe someone has a swingarm lying around and can measure?
Cheers,
-Kit

Thanks chaps, not to worry I'll avail myself of a bearing manufacturers catalogue and go from there, they probably arent that dear but Im thinking if I can identify them I'll replace new throughout rather than just where needed right now. Re the bush, its pretty simple engineering so I can get one of those made up. A curse on all bodge artists everywhere I say, well, apart from me that is,,

If you've got a local brick and morter shop, take one in and they'll find you the correct one. Last I checked bearings generally come in standard sizes.

Thanks chaps, I think the brg for the arms is H2030 looking in the Ina catalogue, Im unsure about the brgs on the pivot arm at the base of the suspension unit , I imagine that they are the same but I will confirm once I get the spindle pressed out, [ yes of course its , its siezed in there ]. Ive also got the item numbers for the gear lever bush re Mots site,and specs for the rod end bearings if anyone else is doing the gearchange mod on this site;
