i Havent tried those but i recomend micron cans if you can find them i love the ones on my sprint. I have also used alot of supertrap slipons and like them because you can tune the sound to your taste
They're obviously not tuned for your bike like factory or good aftermarket pipes are, so you're likely to lose power and/or make your bike more difficult to tune.
That being said, I've thought about the shorty megaphones from your second link more than once...
For anyone interested, Microns are available in the us thru a distributor who bought out several million dollars in inventory. I got an outside sleeve this summer to replace one that somehow went bad (suppose it had something to do with the 35mph dump I took on bike). You can contact them at the info below. They were knowledgable, easy to deal with, and got me what I needed without having to buy a complete new pipe.
By the way, I have stock cans from 96 Sprint if you are interested.
Does anyone have an idea on how to clean up a scrape on a Yoshimura pipe? It's big and ugly Perhaps if I cover it with some cool cut-out piece of metal.
I have a 93 trident that I've had for 12 years and kept standard other than a K&N filter and stainless fasteners and brake/clutch lines fitted. The original silencers still look great but rotting from the inside at the ends. I bought a pair of stainles Venom cans and fitted them yesterday but haven't had a chance to use it because of the snow. Fired it up but noticed there seemed to be a "spit" from it when shutting off the throttle. The cans aren't too loud or open so should give some back pressure. Will I need to re tune the carbs?
I bought a damaged 900 Trophy in 99 and turned it into an old cafe racer style bike and fitted short reverse cone mega's to it. It ran like a dream and sounded beautiful with those cans without touching the carbs.
