Various Sprints

Greetings,

After considerable research, Triumph appears to be at the top of my list for a new bike. I can't afford new, so will buy used.

Hoping someone here can clarify the Sprint's pedigree:
What's the difference over the last 10 or so years between Sprint models?
What distinguishes an Executive?
And what's different between the Trophy 900 and a Sprint?

The older Sprints are a great bargain, in fact, they're down right cheap! The last 900 Sprint was made in '98. I think I would aim for a later one, I understand the clutch was improved on the '98, although I wouldn't shy away from an older one if the price was right. The Executive came with hard bags, and they're very nice.

The Trophy 900 is exactly the same as the Sprint except for the fairing and windshield, the Trophy's being larger. Also, the Trident 900 is very similar to the Sprint. The Trident is naked with the same specs.

The Pre-99' Sprint is a great bike, comfortable beyond belief and quite fast. I owned a 95' and now own a 01'.

Dan, I have a 98 Executive for sale. I have promised someone else first shot at it but will have to wait and see. It has 30k perfect miles on it. It has never let me down and runs perfectly. Don't shy away from early year sprints. They are so over-engineered, they are really setup to last a long time. I have had mine all apart with a triumph mechanic and he explained how beefy the setup was designed. I have a 95 sprint which runs a ton better than my friends 99 daytona. Plus I can out run a suprising number of bikes.
