Bumpy back end

When riding along with the engine not under much load but cruising, I feel a strange slight, rapid oscillation as if riding over small ridges in the road.
I've looked at the front end and nothing seems to be happening from there, so I assume it's coming from the back.
It doesn't happen when accelerating, and I have the damper set to 4.

Is my monoshock goosed?

First thing I'd look at is the chain. Sounds like it's too tight; you want 1.5"/35-40mm slack at the tightest spot on the chain, as measured halfway between sprockets on the bottom run.

If you're worried about sidestand vs. centerstand vs. held up by Sherpas, or laden vs. unladen sag, you're waaaaay overthinking it.

If there's a lot of difference between sag at the tightest spot in the chain vs. sag at the loosest, it's time for a new chain.

Cheers,
-Kit

So you're saying I don't need the Sherpas now? Boy, are they going to be upset!

It could actually be chain-related as I've not had time to adjust and lube it yet. I'll have a proper look this afternoon.

Thanks,
Steve
