I used a nearly identical stand to store my bike over the previous winter. Getting it lined up properly was a bit tricky but doable, however I found that the front tended to want to come up (balance point was too far forward; unavoidable as the pipes were in the way otherwise). The stand had loops for attaching tie-down belts (being very careful not to wrap them around something that can be squashed, etc.) so I used that to stabilize the bike so that I could (gently) move it around if necessary. My lift came with a locking bar so that the bike wouldn't suddenly drop if hydraulic pressure was lost. Letting the jack down slowly, allowing the locking bar to take the weight reduces pressure on the jack which is basically just a bottle jack stuffed into the bottom of a lifting frame. I will be looking to fabricate something to put on the lifting arms for this year, but your jack should do quite well, as Kit has said. Mine has done a fine job (so far). Of course you may have to remove the fairing belly pan to get to the proper balance point.

If the force is with me, will it be easier to get my bike onto its centrestand?
