Engine Blacking, Easy Restoration?

Hi Guys,

Whilst doing the airbox, I realise my engine blacking was a little "dirty", does anyone have a quick way of getting this clean?

Carb cleaner dulls it.

Oil and or wax will make more crap stick to it..

Dont expect perfection without stripping and re-coating, just wondering if anyone has a way of getting it a little blacker without ripping it all apart??

A silicone-based product like S100 is probably your best bet.

Cheers,

I find grate blackener works a treat, available from 'old style' hardware shops also stays black when subject to heat, does need a good final polish though!
