Where to buy sprag clutch assembly?

Hi people, can anyone advise me where to buy a sprag clutch assembly for my 1993 Daytona 900 in the uk? I don't have much faith in my local dealer.Got the dreaded clunk when starting but luckily I have the inspection plate on mine so won't be as bad as some.

Thanks in advance.

Hi wab,

I picked up a sprag here in Australia from the main Triumph Dealer/Importer..
I have it stashed for a spare in case I ever need it.. Not Cheap by any means..

Check this link out, you may find it very useful. Wish I had seen this before I bought a spare sprag..

Thanks Sweenz.Think I would rather fit a complete unit. Not brave enough to fiddle with the springs!
Good link though. It's looking like main dealer as I can't locate one anywhere else.

Hi Wab. Try Sprint Manufacturing in the UK. Talk with Trevor. smanufacturing@freenetname.co.uk

Hi Wab, I got mine from Philip Youles in Blackburn. Not a bad job to fit one but you will have to grind/chisel some of the crankcase away as the new sprags are a larger diameter.
Andy.

Thanks for the pic SlipperySam,this job gets more scary everyday!I have a grinder but I am worried about all the bits flying around.I could tape off the area and then hoover before I remove it I suppose. Is that what you did?

Hi Wab, I used a very sharp chisel. I stuffed the cases full of kitchen roll and picked most of the bits out as I chipped them off. I thought about using a Dremel but that woyld have sent grit evreywhere. It's really not that difficult a job. It doesn't need much taking off just a millimetere or so. Here's a close-up.

Successful removal

Hi guys I have eventually removed the sprag assembly from the bike but on inspection just of the outside I can't see any damage to it?Is that normal?Hoping I haven't gone through all this for nothing!
Going to order from Sprint Engineering,do you have to order the starter wheel as well or can I reuse mine but order the correct tooth sprag assembly and refit?
