New Winshield

I was thinking of getting a Rifle extended windshield for the fairing on my '94 Sprint. Has anyone had any experience with this product. I find the stock Sprint 'shield lets the wind hit me right in the faceshield. Gets annoying after a while especially on the fast 4 and 6lanes.

Not as "fast" as the stocker, but lots less buffeting for me.

Thanks for the info and pic swede. It may not look quite as nice as the stock version, but there comes a time when comfort overrules looks (bikes, chairs, wives - just kidding on that last one, you know).

Hi,

I don't know if it will help, but there are 'flip-up' screens available which are perhaps a 'half-way' option? They are about 4" higher and, to me, retain a similar shape of the original? See this link for an example: http://www.triumphparts.gbr.cc/10442...earch=&sought=

Mebbe a bit tough to see, but I did take a shot of the stocker with the Rifle up against it when I got the new screen....you can see the difference. Quite a bit less buffeting, esp. in traffic. I'm tall but can duck down behind the screen for a pocket of calm air. It also makes long rides quite comfortable. My old "transport" bike (Honda CB650 Custom) had a Silverwing type fairing fitted.....it was very quiet but pushing that "plank" thru the air killed fuel mileage. The Sprint gets better gas mileage than the smaller Honda. I did not notice any drop in mileage when I fitted the Rifle screen.....it actually popped up to 52 mpg (US gal) several times while on longer rides (fairly level/straight roads) so it may actually be a bit more aerodynamic than the fly screen and me in the wind.

I was on a quest for a quieter screen on my Sprint and tried a Rifle for a while. It did reduce alot of the wind but I had a hard time getting past the look of it.I wound up with a Givi screen that was a few inches taller than the stocker and had a flip at the top edge it was an improvement but got better after I added a Laminar lip to it and that created a nice dead air space and was much quieter.
