Bike's fine, right hand isnt'.
So I decided to take the Big D for a run up to the Blue Ridge Parkway (beautiful day). Each way is about 250 miles plus the 100 I rode in the mountains. I stopped a few times as the Daytona isn't exactly a Prius when it comes to fuel economy. Now that she's cleaned up and what not, I noticed that night my right thumb was numb at the tip, I figured it was too much strain from the ride. Now two days later I'm having some difficulty with my entire right hand, thumb is fine and I have feeling in it. It feels really weak but last night I went to the gym and worked out for about 2 hours, the only trouble I had was pushing the buttons on cardio equiptment. Anyone have any suggestions?

Carpal tunnel syndrome sounds likely. Been there, done that, fix only so-so (my hands still goes to sleep, but much less so). They do a sensitivity test to find out for sure. If that's what you have, they need to cut open the main nerve tunnel at the wrist to give it more room. Expect two weeks in plaster afterwards; you do NOT want any dirt to enter the wound at ANY cost; it can cause you your hand.

If you take it very, very easy on the hand for the next couple of weeks, and pop some Advil/Aspirin/Tylenol at max recommended dosage, it may get better on its own. Still best to see a doc about it, though.
Also, read what Shovelstrokeed has to say about riding position in this thread:

Hope you feel better soon!
Cheers,
-Kit

I tried switching to the left but it's a bit hard to work the clutch so I had to have my wife help me with that, haha haha (sarcastic laugh). Don't if it's carpal tunnel, never had a problem with my wrists before, definately struck a nerve though, literally. It's good now, I've been at the gym a lot more in since my ride and I think it's helped. I also used one of them grip spring things plus soaking it in warm water. Good as new, I can even do the Star Trek thing.
Still not as bad as the night I split my little finger open with a ceramic soap dish. I'll put this way, a bath tub kicked my ass. Talk about being miserable, I was so happy when the stitches were taken out.
Speaking of messed up hands, I saw a Kawi thread where some new guy tried to clean his chain by having the bike up on a paddock stand and taking a rag to clean it with. Turns out he lost three or four fingers when the were tangled up in the chain/sprocket.
