Longest continuous ownership of a T3???
I bought my September 1995 registered, candy apple red, 900 Sprint in December 1995, complete with 377 miles on the clock
I took it to around 27,000 miles by 1998 and "replaced" it with a new 1200 Daytona. Except I couldn't be parted with it. My wife wouldn't let me part with it either; we used it for our wedding and our honeymoon in 1997, so it HAD to stay! Because of the Daytona and the arrival of our daughter in 1999 it's yet to pass 28,000 miles! It's spent much of the last 11 years mothballed.
However, I've just got it reinsured for tomorrow morning and I've just gone and bought our daughter a new crash helmet, so roll on the weekend! It's much better for a novice pillion than the Daytona anyway....
That'll be 14 years that I've owned that bike, come this December. Has anyone here continuously owned a T3 for longer than that?
Just curious....
Tigger.

My daughter and I did a round trip to Plymouth yesterday (around 50 miles) and she was absolutely fine! A born pillion!
The Sprint is now very much unmothballed! We went to the local Triumph dealer's cafe for a spot of lunch. It's the first time I've called in at a dealers' on that bike since 2000! The bike really did seem out of place pulling up into the bike park and, come to think of it, so did we!
Had a good look at the new Triumphs. I liked the look of the current Sprint from a distance, but the riders seat was just too small when I got on it (no room to move around on it) and the pillion seat was too high for Rose to climb on to easily - I imagine the (fabulous looking) underseat exhaust must be the reason for that. The cable operated clutch seemed a bit rough to use and a backward step over the hydraulic one on the old Sprint. Nothing else appealed amongst the new Triumphs, such a shame, I really wanted to like something!
They did have a pristine '73 X75 (Craig Vetter) and a '74 Trident though I would quite happily have taken the X75 home for a toy! It wasn't for sale though

Hope you have full protection gear for your kit, Tigger. I started taking my kids for rides when they were around 4, and I've always had full kits for them (leathers, boots, gloves, full face helmets) as I couldn't bare the thought of them getting injured due to something as silly as lack of protective gear. Sure, it does cost a few dollars, but it's still cheap insurance.

A very good point you have there faffi.
I went and bought her a new crash hat and she's wearing my wife's leather jacket, which she very nearly fits! Stout walking boots (what I've always worn), though she's in need of decent gloves and trousers. Looking for them now!

Can't beat that but I bought my 96 D12 in August, 1998 with 487 miles on the clock. So I've owned it 11 years, 1 month, it's about to turn 80,000 miles
