Hey, don't feel bad, I seem to have the only '98 Trident in western NC, but I don't think it's because they were unpopular- maybe the dealers only got their hands on a few. They are great bikes, and we needn't worry about not standing out from the crowd!
Here's a few shots of mine:

I've made some more mods since, here's the list of all:
K&N air filter
Dynojet kit
D&D cans
Storz handlebar risirs with K&N superbars (black, of course)
Braking full floating front rotors
ZX9 6-pot Tokico front calipers
Corbin Canyon Dual Sport seat
Deuce turn signals (wired as running lights, too)
LED taillight and signal bulbs
55/100w headlight bulb
Beston-style grips (think old Tri/BSA) + old Tri shift rubber
Napoleon mirrors
Black ZXR-11 levers
Dropped the fromt tubes even with top of triple tree
Lowered rear suspension about 1.5"
raised headlight (swap brackets side-to-side) & gauges
What can I say? This is MY version of a "power cruiser".
Next up is fitting the carbon fiber pieces; I have front and rear fenders, a hugger, and a chainguard on hand. I'll add more pics to the album soon.
Meantime, when someone asks you whatthehell that bike is, just tell 'em it's Hinkley's original naked sportbike and give 'em a big grin!
Ride safe.
