I put a New Battery in the Speed Triple a couple of weeks ago.

Today, I ripped around the area with a mixture of city streets and highways for only 50 or so miles. The cooler temperatures are mixing well with my richer carb set-up (for keeping engine running cooler during our hot Summers).

Let's see... over the course of last week I put in new spark plugs, new rear sprocket, a new chain, gave the rear tire a very good clean while I had it off, put the replacement fairing I picked up on.

Next weekend I'll be changing the fork oil. When I get off I'm gonna go by some dry ice to pull the dent out of the tank with, then I'll bondo/paint.

Good week.

Who did you get to recover your seat? Mine needs done as the surface is cracking on the original.

I replaced the front brake pads and gave the old girl a once over as I have to get a state inspection this month. I also had to clean the contacts on the horn button as it did not want to work properly. Should be good to go now though. I too will be getting the seat recovered soon.

I think the batteries are the same for all the 900 range, they are for my Speed Triple and Thunderbird Sport.

I've got a Dynavolt on one and a Motobatt on the other, both gel types which apart from holding the charge better and cranking better you don't have to mess around with vent pipes and have the risk of acid damage to the swing arm etc.

I'll post up the model nos. when I get home or if you just Google your bike the batteries will come up.

Edit: I found them on another post I'd contributed to.
Original battery - Yuasa YB14L-A2
Dynavolt MGCB14LA2
Motobatt MBTX14AU

The motobatt is much better IMHO. Plus I like the idea of 4 terminals so you can easily add accessories
I have 3 bikes with motobatt fitted.

Not had them on long enough to know if one is better over the other. All I know is that they both hold their charge well and spin the engine over nicely.

I'd already tried a Dynavolt on my CCM with good results.

Didn't want a Motobatt on my Speed Triple as they are yellow!!
