A BAD good Friday........
Worst day of biking so far.
Finished my night shift at 7am. I needed fuel so on my way home i stopped for fuel. Only garage that was open on way home was Asda. Fill for fuel then you drive to a window to pay then you drive off......WRONG.
I filled with fuel then got my money ready, got bike off its stand then the bloody thing wanted to kiss the petrol pump......LYING DOWN.
So me bike fell over and all that can be heard from under me helmet was a lot of muffled Japanese with a lot of Fs in between. As I looked up all i could see was the two women attendants wettin their chairs . I looked down at me bike then noticed an old neighbour on the other side of the pump fillin his car. The conversation went like this....
Hello Michael.....I got a blank look as i had me helmet on.
I then removed me helmet and he was still confused as i had me balaclava on, after fightin with me balaclava to free me face he then recognised me as i popped me face out through the front. He then helped me pick me bike up with the words "You need a lighter bike".
After sayin fanks and payin for me fuel i then proceded to ride home.
This was event free untill I pulled up at the back of me flat and for some reason i applied the front brake whilst doin about 5 mph. I think i must be a bit tired cause as i applied the front brake obviously a bit to hard the bike then decided it wanted to kiss the driveway with a hefty thump. Me bike then started to bleed as blue coolant started to ooze out. Then i noticed me front indicator half way across the road . Yet more Japanese with many more Fs in between. Then it dawned on me i was alone with just next doors Staffy starein at me. So there was nothin else for it but to pick it up on me own. I geared myself up then with many grunts and almost losin me inerds through me hole i proceded to pick the bike up .
I then thought bollox to this I need a coffee. So with coffee in hand i started scannin Ebay for a indicator. Then it occured to me that the previous owner gave me two rear indicators with the bike so i raided me shed and found them. After taking the front indicator apart as well as the back one i then put the long front stalk (that was not broken) onto the rear light as these have short stalks and connected up wiring and hay presto all blinks well .
So all in all a marvellous start to what people call GOOD FRIDAY....... Not from where i am its not.
Glad i goin to bed. Maybe my day will get better when i wake up.

Bugger...sounds like you need a side car..?
A. It will keep the bike upright
B. You can sleep in it
Good luck chap
Cheers

I feel your pain. One night my D1200 decided to fall over on it's own on the right side and I was left to pick it up by myself. Then again I was so mad about it I just grabbed the bars and yanked it upright. Definately not light bikes. Hope it gets better. If it helps I can't ride at all because I have stitches in my left hand and cannot use a clutch.

I just did this the other day and put a nice big dent in my pristine tank!
Man, twice in one morning, you must of been pissed with yourself.
Mot, you crack me up mate...

Hope you still have all your entrails.
Tried this once, works good, especially when tired (or old & tired like me)or alone . Kilt not required unlike the pics.

Looks stupid but the bike comes right up with out losing any nads. If its on the right put the side stand down first to avoid double embarrassment.

i slipped while manouvering the bike into a parking space at the top of a very steep hill.it fell over on the left side, and i had to lift her up, and prevent her from rolling/sliding down the curb stone until i had her upright enough to swap my hands and grab a hold of the brake!
i could barely walk the next day! (well, i could walk, but not upright)
