Steering head spanners available
Hi All,
I got a batch of 38mm Steering head spanners made at a local workshop. They are pretty much identical to the (pricey!) Triumph tool, except they are plain steel (not plated) & the socket/torque wrench drive is for 1/2" not 3/8". 4.5mm thick. They do the job nicely & mean this 3k miles job on the schedule doesn't get neglected .
This was the thread on the classic triples forum:
http://www.triumphrat.net/hinckley-c...nner-tool.html
There's just two left, price €15 each or €27 for the two, plus post.
PM me if you'd like to buy.
Cheers
Mike
(I'm not a trader or anything, just got a few made as I wanted some myself.)

Please post in Classifieds, as that's where ads should go. I'll leave this here as the allowable one-time pointer to a classified. ad.
Cheers,

Ok, cool Kit, my bad.
BTW Dave has confirmed he's buying, sorry to those disappointed.
Cheers
Mike
PS There's talk on the classic triples forum of a US effort to make some, so keep your eyes peeled. I'll try & remember to let those who've PM'd me know as/when it comes up.

No worries, Mike.
Just to be clear: ads for sale belong in Classifieds, but one-time pointers are allowed in the forum.
(Speaking for myself, I appreciate the pointers in the forums.)
Cheers,
-Kit

These spanners have turned up at exactly the right time for me as I have just had to strip the forks out of my bike to get the steering stop repaired; it was very poorly welded to the frame and a part of it had broken off. The part that hadnt broken off was going to break off. May be worth taking a look at your bikes to check, if the forks come round too far they will hit the top bolt of the radiator and put a small dent in the back of the top shroud. The steering stop must take a lot of strain as you will be pulling against it when you put the bike on it's centre stand.
