Tire/tyre valve stems

I'm replacing tires/tyres soon.
I want to change out the tire valve stems from the straight jobs,
to a 90degree or right angle style.

I saw some listed on ebuy but the seller said it may not fit all wheels due to the size? So there is no "standard"?

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I'm doing the same..I've just ordered some Ariete valves they come in 8. something mm & 10.something. I believe ours are the smaller ones although if someone could double check on a spare wheel it would be good. Also another search you can do is for Bridgeport valves ;-)

You've ordered the right ones, 8.3mm. I've had a set on my Trophy for about 3 years.
Make sure you point the valves to the right, away from the sprocket, makes it easier to get at on the side stand and keeps your hands clean-ish!!!

When I last tried to put some air in last week the front valve disintegrated at the top. About as much as was under the cap fell off due to corrosion. So I have a couple of questions: How safe is it to still ride? and Where does the actual valve hold inside the stem?

Also I've now ordered new valves from the dealer, and they screw in from inside the wheel, so the tyre has to come off - so How do right angle valves work?

Cheers

if there is any damage to the valve, i would park the bike up and leave it until you have it fixed.

the 90 degree valves just have a bend in the stem so it points outwards, rather than up at your hub, which is awkwardto get to because of your disks

I'd be interested how people get on with these. I have a nightmare getting to the valves when using service stations.
I am changing the tyres in May (before a trip down to Strasbourg in June) and was considering the right angle valves.
I recently purchased a right angle adaptor that you screw on to the existing valve when putting air in. It is a good idea, unfortunately, it always lets some air out on removal, which is a tad annoying.
