Your memory is correct. It's pretty steady on mine.

I have also recently noticed the dash "flickering " with the engine on ...and i was trying to work out if it always had done it or not. ....however yesterday I had a "real" problem ..it involved the egine cutting out on the motorway ..the speedo reading wrong ...a total nightmare

that was all down to to the positive lead on the battery being loose , it was making an intermittent connection ...anyway I have just checked... no flicker hurrah...so get your seat off and check the battery connections ...apologies if you have already done this .

I think the terminals on the battery are easily knocked or loosened ...I may have loosened mine while playing around fitting a tail bag ..it involved a lot of seat on seat off ..oh and a bit of swearing

Ah ok, bike was actually out of commission for the last month (on holidays for a few weeks, difficulty getting to the dealers etc), so just looking to check when I'm up collecting the bike tomorrow. By the sounds of it, the bad earth that knocked it out originally, may have been the cause of the dash issue too

just an update on this

got the bike back from the dealer on the monday, and the dash has been rock steady, without probs. Seems it was a symptom of the short in the ignition circuit that knocked the bike out completely a few days later.

So if this starts happenin to you, I'd get it looked at asap - while the bike still starts, could be the same thing

There were several riders on the Street-triple forum that reported the wiring loom from the left hand bar splitting near the headstock.

When I did the fork mods and strated to replace the forks I noticed the loom was quite tight so instead of looping it through the forks I left it free. Maybe that could be a problem starting?

could very well be that, tbh I didnt really ask any questions, or take a look myself. It was something under the tank iirc...
