Oil filter?

Does does anyone know if the Street Triple uses the same oil filter as the Daytona? Also, where does everyone purchase their oil filters? Anyone know of any good websites and brands to buy? The dealership really isn't an option because I live far away from where I bought the bike.

My dealership is 110 miles away and shipped me oil and filter for my 500 mile change via UPS for free.

Talk to Baxter Cycle if your dealership won't ship to you for some reason.

Is your first service included in the price of the bike? If so, they can require you to have that one done at an authorized dealer to preserve the warranty. As for subsequent services, that depends on the law where you live.

Many people in the States prefer to do their own service, and that's not a concern for warranty here so long as: (a) you document that you have done it, and (b) you do it right. That's the part a lot of people fail to consider...if a problem crops up that is caused by setting valve clearance incorrectly or failure to torque something to the right spec, Triumph will not regard that as their problem.

Can anyone answer this without straying off topic?

I'm using the K&N 204. It's available at most motorcycle accessory shops and many dealers (of various makes), and should run under $15. I recently got one at Cycle Gear, a fairly large chain with both an online store and retail outlets.

While I'm not absolutely certain the 204 is the right part #(!), it matches on K&N's site and on at least one Triumph dealer accessory list. Anyway, it fits and doesn't leak. I don't know for sure if it's the same one as used on the Daytona, but I'd bet it is.
