Just picked up my 09 Street Triple 12 days ago. I noticed the chain seemed loose but I looked in the owners manual and it was in spec. I looked throughout the book and could only find copyright 2007. Glad I just joined and read these posts.

i spoke too soon, i dont think i measured it right.

i went back and measured it right in the middle, lifting in the middle with my thumb(which i did not doo before) and it was about 1 1/4 inch which pretty much the daytona spec. everyone should check thiers. it's a really easy adjustment to make if it's not in spec. just make sure to rotate the chain completly to make sure you dont have any spots that are too tight.

So the owners manual says that the correct chain settings are 20-25mm on the Street and 35-40mm on the Daytona. My question is this:

On the Street Triple R, which setting do we use? Yes it's a Street, but it has the same geometry as the Daytona.

A little insight, por favor?

The owners manual supplement doesn't have the word "chain" anywhere in it, btw.

Operative words: it's a Street. The geometry is not visibly different from the Daytona anyway.

I can tell you from experience that at least on the 2009 Striple R 15-20mm is too tight. I accidentally got it that tight because I had the bike jacked up in the air and adjusted the chain with the rear wheel unloaded. I realized I had a problem within a few blocks however because you could feel the chain every time you hit a bump.

edit: I just checked the UK website and they haven't updated the downloadable manual yet. It's still the old 2008 one.

Clearly a typo there, Andy. Don't follow that recommendation! There's no reason at this point to think the setting for the 2010 R is any different from the standard 2008 or '09.
