Six Months Later...
... my love for...her is still growing. For some reason, the minute I surpassed the 4'000 kilometers mark, she turned WILD. Like a mysterious, final run-in period was ultimately done with. And meaning she now rushes into red zone in gears 1 through 5 way sooner than she used to. Wow!

Still zero oil consumtion and minimal chain slack. The Dunlop Qualifiers acquit themselves surprisingly well, both in terms of wear and of roadholding (I only ride her "for fun" and mostly on mountain roads)

My last Triumph was an '02 Bonneville America and it too didn't really come into its own until it his about 2500-3000 miles. The little Triple just keeps getting better. Glad to hear you've managed to put the miles on your bike. My riding season is just now kicking into full swing.

Around 4 months for me and just over 100 miles.

The Street is by far the best / most fun bike I've ever owned and it's sortcomings (minor though they are) are easy to live with or address with aftermarket bolt-on parts (upgrades).

Now the better weather is here it's clear that I have more confidence to get on the power earlier than I had with any bike I had before when I want to race but it also pulls in any gear making for more relaxed thru-traffic riding than with my old SV650s. In the months since I got rid of the SV I've never suffered any wrist ache as I suffered as a result of being piched forwards onto the SV's low "clip-on" bars.

It's true that slow speed maneuvring is not the Street's strength but that's OK because that's not what I spend most of my time doing and if it was I'd go get a 125cc commuter.

I've had mine about 6 months as well, done just under 2000miles so far and still loving it, that fantastic triple noise allways brings a smile to my face. No oil used in mine yet but think the chain could do with a small adjustment. The rear Dunlop looks about half worn out so I'm going to replace it in a couple of weeks as got to do a couple of long journeys in the next week(750ish miles) and then off on bike trip first week in June riding to Switzerland probably do about 2500 miles that week, cant wait! The bike allways manages to draw a crowd from people waiting for one, or wanting one or just generally admiring it's beauty.

Had mine a month and a half 1350 mile done and can feel the tightness of the engine slowly disappearing and the fun just gets better.
