CRG bar end installation....

I gots a question for you who are more knowledgable than I. When installing the CRG bar ends, when you use the adapator what is the best way to knock out the weight in the middle of the bar, it looks to be glued in their good. Should i just use the old hammer and chisel to knock it loose?? Thanks in advance!

Use a hack saw to cut the stud off the adapter. You can use the bolt from the stock bar-end to attach the adapter to the bar.

I bought the CRG adapters from British Customs but they arent cheap, $50! with shipping. I dont recommend taking out the center piece, it looks welded. You can take off the bar end that comes with the mirrors (you have to do this when you buy the adapters anyway ) Just use a washer on the outside of the mirror. So place the mirror up against the end of the bar, then place a washer (bigger than the opening obviously) and then use the bolt that came with original bar ends. It will tighten up nicely. On the throttle side, use a washer on both sides of the mirror (so one between the bar and mirror and one on the outside of the mirror.) If you want to go that extra step, paint the washers black first to match the mirrors. I used this technique until I received my adapters and it worked perfect.

+1. Works just fine. I just left about 3/8 inch of the adapter that inserts into the bar.

Follow-up question - what do you do with the posts that connected the old mirrors to the bars? Can you get a cap or something to cover the holes left behind, or can you remove them completely?

Mirror hole plugs. They're available from Newbonneville.

Are you talking about the Union Jack mirror plugs? If so are you using them on your bike? I like the looks of them, but would rather not spend $22 on something that won't fit. I'm liking these CRG bar end mirrors

Yes. I'll be using them as soon as they arrive. They fit the speed triple and bonnie, so I'm confident they'll work. Hold off and I'll give a report when they arrive.

I love the CRG's too. I transfered them from my SV650. I also noticed that CRG just started making adapters for bars with plugs, like the Triumph.

I've got the plugs - they fit perfect. High quality - a little expensive, but sometimes you gotta pay the price.

Here's a photo of my bike with the CRGs installed using modified CRG adapters, the original bar end screw and rubber bungs to fill the empty mirror mounts. Everything fits well and looks right IMHO.
