US models coming to Oz?

Hi folks.

Yesterday, I dropped by my Triumph dealership...to have another look at a Bonnie....and I saw a bloke who seemed to be picking up his new, white Street Triple.

It had those US type reflectors on the sides of the front forks.

Is that the only difference between the US and Ozzie models?

I assume the miles per hour/Kilometres per hour is just a fiddle with the ECU.

Does this mean that Triumph prefer $11,990 Au, to whatever they get in the States?

US to OZ

Apparently that is what is means. Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price is $7999 USD. I called my local dealer (Lonestar BMW/Triumph) early this week and he told me that Street Triples will probably arrive in August to September time frame. The weakening US Dollar may be influencing where Triumph diverts their bikes.

I too noticed those reflectors on a black street triple being delivered here in brisbane.

I was wondering if it were some bolt on...

My bike came from the US market, complete with orange kiddie reflectors. They didn't stay on long! The other differences are the miles/km changeover and the direction the headlights point, both easy to switch pre-delivery.

Unless your VIN decodes to one designated for the North American region, it's not a US bike.

Please don't fuel any more paranoia on these boards about the exchange rate! It's a totally bogus argument.
