No, not in the U.S. Under our law, that part of the warranty terms does not apply unless the required service is paid for by the manufacturer (
eg, is included in the price).
However, just because it doesn't have to be done by an authorized dealer doesn't mean you can disregard the service intervals. The rule of thumb is to document your own work by keeping receipts for all the supplies used in performing the work. I'd go so far as to advise printing out a copy of the checklist and ticking off each item as you do it, then sign and date it when completed.
Of course, if you do some part of your own service incorrectly and that voids the warranty in future, you don't have anyone else to lay the responsibility on.
