Fenda Extenda - fitting feedback please !!

Has anyone fitted a fenda extenda ?

I've just got one from Pyramid Plastics & it requires drilling the front fender. Not very keen to do that.

Also, although I've seen other bikes on forums with these fitted, it seems like it will be a bit tight to the tyre to me.

If anyone has fitted one, can you let me know how it went & how it fits please ?

thanks

Hi Spiki.Even though i have never fitted one i have seen a few and i think they look crap. I know they are useful but a quick hose off after a wet run does the trick plus I have ordered a rad guard from R & G( black mesh-£60). The bellypan gets a bit of peppering but your ventureshield will look after that. To sum up-you may spoil your bike if you drill and add the extender-just my opinion though.

I'm on my 3rd bike now to which I have fitted a fenda extenda, and I have never drilled any of them, I just stick them on with a outdoor silicone sealant and leave to dry for a day. Never had one fall off yet.
I'm not to keen on the looks as tim100 says, but they do help with all the crap that gets thrown up.

The fit is perfect, yes its close, but it just follows the contours of the fenda as it should do.

If you do use silicone just take out the fenda bolts so you can get your fingers behind to 'squeeze' it together so the silicone gets a good grip.

I concur with FAZMAN on the silicone sealant.

I fitted the extender to my TBS over 4 years ago and never had an issue with it.
I held it in place with a couple of rubber bands while it set for a day or so.

that's all very useful, thanks

I'm not keen to drill. Having thought about the rad guard, I prefer the fenda-extenda as it might give a bit more protection to the rear tyre from sharp bits being thrown at it by the front tyre.
