Anyone using tank pads?
Hey guys,
I'm pondering the purchase of these Gripster Sport Snake Skin tank pads:
http://www.techspec-usa.com/products/gs_triumph.html
Is anyone else using tank pads? What type, and how do you like them?
I'm currently using Tanksplappers on the sides of my tank, but that's just to help prevent scratches. I'm looking for tank pads w/ more aggressive grips/contact & cushion. I'm also working on improving my riding technique/posture. I feel these will help improve contact and support with my inner thighs, while relieving some pressure off my arms & wrists.

No snide remark, although one could suspect you were inviting one. In any event, the message is: Tank contact, let alone GRIP (?) is passé, except in straights, for the sake of aerodynamics?. KNEE OUT is the way to go whenever you approach a slight urban bend or a demanding country curve. GET MOVIN' ON THAT SEAT. Jamie

Just asking a simple question Jamie. No intentions of inviting a "snide remark". I'm just out riding as much as possible, having fun, trying to improve my skills. That's all.

You're not entirely correct. When you lean off the knee that is still touching the tank benefits from a good, grippy tank pad. Hence why California Superbike school uses them, as do most racers...
I say go for it, I've never heard anyone buy them and regret it.

I have them and love them. Makes the stop and go, pot holes, city riding tolerable. Great for when you have a passenger(i have no grab rails and comming to stops can be painful). Also they look great on my black Stiple.

Thanks but I was actually hoping for a picture of the black pads on MV912's black striple too see how obtrusive they are as I have the same bike and to be honest they look pretty crappy on all of the pictures I've seen of them on other bikes.
Cheers
Andy
