Finally got them yesterday...
Pipes are on - fairly easy to install... Took a bit of "adjusting" here and there to get them as straight as possible. These babies are easily half the weight of the stock cans. They look freakin awesome! After getting her all back together, I set out for a quick ride - with the baffles in. Here's my thoughts.
Upon start-up, they are definately louder (DEEPER) than stock. Just a nice low rumble, very nice. As I set out down the road, they really start to growl! I have noticed that between 3-5k RPM they do tend to "drone" a bit, that will take getting used to, but when I grab some throttle, they sound real nice. Up in the 6k plus range, they sound great - although it seems that I notice them less as 10K approaches due to the intake growl (glad I can still hear that.) All in all, I really like them. Do they make my bike faster? I don't know - it seems like it may be a bit quicker to pick up, however I have not been to the dealer to get new software as of yet.
SO - after buzzing around the block for a bit, I arrived back at my garage and stared at the nice little baffles in the new cans. "What the hell" I thought and pryed the retaining clips from the ends to remove the baffles.... And they don't come out! Wondering what's going on, I take a closer looks and see that there is a tiny welded piece of metal also holding each baffle in. After a bit of thinking and one screwdriver with a hammer, I was able to pop those bastards off and remove the baffles.
Upon start-up BOOOOOOM so loud lol - my first thought was "**** I better get out of here before I **** off some neighbors..." So I took off, and it's just loud as ****! Like ridiculous loud. DEEP. BOOMY. Before I made it down the street I knew that the baffles would have to go back until I live in the country or am a professional racer. BUT - I figured I would at least enjoy my ride! I dropped down to an open road out of the residential parts and opened it up to 12k. WOW - MotoGP all the way home! I wish I could have recorded it, cause it was downright hilarious for a street bike.
I got back to the garage and after fumbling with the retaining clips was able to re-install the baffles.
All in all, I am happy with my purchase - I mean the cosmetic upgrade is excellent, and the sound is great. When I get my new software, we will see if there is more of a perceived increase in HP.
That's all for now - pictures tomorrow - I also added some wheel striping which so far seems to look pretty good, so you all can see that as well.
