The Exhaust(ing) Thread

Hi all

I'm looking for some 'real life' feedback on the Arrow 3 into 1 system.

I know it is considerably lighter than stock (7kg saving?) and is supposed to give some power gains (3bhp?) but for those owners who rode the bike stock and then had the Arrow 3 into 1 exhaust fitted ....can you tell me if you actually noticed much of a difference in the handling/performance (not sound) of the bike before and after the system was fitted.

Cheers
Andy

I had my bike for 1800kms before installing the Arrow and Map II. I found there to be considerable change from stock. I noticed an increased throttle response, particularly from mid range RPM. The result was noticably more "punch" and the loss of the slight "rubber band" feel that I thought the bike had. The peak HP figures might not be that much an increase, but my **** dyno liked the result!

Sound is also excellent, subdued at idle, wild at full tilt!

Arrows' 3 into one, with the adjusted tune, are worth an 8 BHP peak power gain -which IMO is very substantial-- according to Triumph's somewhat confidential info to its dealers. Jamie

Hey Jamie

Thanks for the info. Would this be rear wheel HP?

Thanks for the feedback guys although of course I'm still none the wiser

Jamie, how reliable is this info? I would think 8bhp combined with the weight saving would definitely make a difference although there's always the concern of how much it would rob from the midrange...... why oh why won't Triumph just publish a dyno graph for this thing

BTW, does anyone know if there are any restrictions in the standard downpipes and whether there are any differences in the one's on the 3-1 (apart from the fact that they are titanium) e.g. are they larger diameter, different shape.

Cheers
Andy

I fitted my system myself and there didn't seem any difference in pipe diameter etc. The biggest difference is the weight or lack of it with the Arrow system, plus the noise.Stop messing about and just BUY IT!!!!!!

Now I know that in the winter, back in Montana, we always checked under cars for stray cats trying to keep warm.

But Street Triple exhausts?

Can you tell that this February cold spell is finally getting to some of us?

Well, the reason I'm undecided is I'm also considering another shorty muffler called the Maggot. It's not made specificaly for the Street but I should be able to make it fit as Hordboy on the Triumph675.net forum has fitted one to a Daytona (picture courtesy of Hordboy).

It's hand made and manufactured locally to me so works out very cheap (around $150!!) and I really like the short style but I'm not sure if changing the can only will give me enough benefit, hence the questions about the downpipes.

BTW, it's worth checking out Hordboy's tuning thread as it gives some excellent info including dyno graphs on the effects of different levels of tune on the 675 engine (albiet in Daytona version). http://www.triumph675.net/forum/showthread.php?t=9870

Cheers
