Many thanks for the information, Thirdway. Very informative. My current plan is making a dogbone, that is slightly longer than stock, to insert in the rear suspension. This will lower the rear about 25mm. I prefer this to the adjustable device I have seen installed on a few Daytona's. It will be at least as strong as the original part. Once done I'll lower the forks approx the same amount. I have seen this on a Daytona with good results. Being only a street rider with some very limited track experience it seems highly unlikely that the minor change in turn-in will be un-noticable to me. The bike is far faster than I am.
I am not tall. 167 cm with a 71 cm inseam. I am just on my tip toes on this bike when stopped. Lowering the bike 25 mm will simply make it much more comfortable and allow my to push backward when necessary.
You are obviously much more experienced with suspension dymanics and adjusting than I and I appreciate that. Very few people have that knowledge. It is certianly valuable.
And, Crazycam, built up boots? I'd just be tripping over them all the time. Besides they are ugly! It's all about how you look isn't it? (I'm kidding ya know). At my age comfort IS everything. I'm not ready for the lounge chair yet!
Thanks, again to all.
