So I finally ordered the SC Project GP tech for my 2008 model, will be here towards the end of september. Any instructions anywhere? I'v found plenty for the newer versions but none for the old highrise version.
Also SC Project claims that no remap is needed, but many people claim that the Arrow map is best suited for the bike, but then again they are talking about the newer version.
So after a couple of hours (!) in the garage they are fitted. First of all: read the damn instructions. The link pipes are different from side to side and so are the pipes (?).
Anyway, from the sc project site you'll see that the sillicone band holding the muffler is approx in the middle, while mine sits about 2/3 back towards the crankcase.
Here's the picture from Sc project site:
Any ideas? Also with the muffler out.. too damn loud
They probably have a bracket hidden under side panel to move that clamp back for better aesthetics. Of course they are loud...it's a SC project system, all about the noise and not so much about performance.
My clamps are in the same location as yours at the first 1/3 portion of the can. So it's closer to the engine than in the middle. I found that if u mount the clamps in the middle the cans at the exhaust end become aimed up to high which don't make the pipes line up with the angle of the seat. Makes them point up too high.
Totally agree. You might "feel" that the bike is quicker but i think its wanting to justify spending 600GBP on something that is mostly esthetics and noise
There's lots of volume in those std cans. 4kg each up high. But the size makes them efficient so they aren't strangling the performance.
