anyone removed theirs? just took mine off and it seems that the induction noise is a lot louder not sure about more power though

I replaced mine with the newer stock intake screen that has the wider vents. Could have sworn it felt a bit more twitchy when doing slow speed maneuvers, but have since de-cat the headers, put K&N air filter, SC projects exhaust, PCV, and dyno tuned, so not sure if that screen change actually did much.

Well, I just got my 2016 grill from Bike Bandit, and it looks exactly like my 2014 grill.

Sorry to hear. Odd that they would send inconsistent items. Since you're planning on cutting a screen, I would suggest cutting the old one so if you're not happy with it, you can contact them back and explain so they can do an exchange for you.

Good luck!

Two things that in my mind I'm pretty sure I kinda maybe felt from taking out the screen:

- Deeper induction noise. Less whistle more growl.

- a little more top end. I swear it pulls ever so slightly harder above 8k.

I think the engineers really wanted the full open grate at start of '13 production. My guess is something/overrode due to emissions/noise.

I think the bigger/removed grate will really come into play when adding tune/exhaust. I mean, its gotta flow more air = good right?

Awesome? yer easily impressed! Its hardly worth the bother for such a limited gain over such a small revrange.

If I were more principled I'd put it back in. But it appears that I'm as shallow as the next man.

Locally made free flowing low pipe, k&n, matched injectors, low pipe tune loaded. Need to get a mate with an AFmeter to see if there's any area of fueling that can be improved. I'd tell you a number but I wasn't running proper correction. The screen removal was done within seconds of the with run so its clear.
