Talking Too Much Fun!

I've been into cruisers forever so the Street Triple is a total change in style for me and I have to say it is way too much fun. I don't know how comfortable it'd be on a day long ride. I haven't had the weather to give it a go. I do know that this bike has the knack of putting an ear to ear grin on my face that remains in place several hours after I finish a ride. The engine is insanely free revving and can only get better as it loosens up. It's difficult to ride this bike at a slow pace. It just begs for more throttle. Then there's the sound. That lovely exhaust note when you hit the power band and the throaty intake. There's nothing else on the road that sounds like a triple. While the Speed would have been a rush and has tons of power I'm glad I settled on the lighter Street. I still have all the ponies I can reasonably use with a twist of my wrist, yet it's nimble and so easy to handle. This bike is simply brilliant! My hats off to the designers at Triumph. Now if they'd just expand the accessory line and make the goodies more available... but then we are talking about Triumph.

I allways had sportsbikes and never thought i would have a naked bike but the street has been fantastic so far, got a long trip in place for next year (2-3k miles in 6 days!) so that will be a real test to see if I miss a full fairing. The induction roar is so addictive I can't help accelerating then slowing down and doing it again and again!, probably not to good for chain and tyre wear but who cares!!!

I totally concur. In 40 years of riding, I have had all sorts of bikes, ranging from tourers to so-called superbikes... and I still cherish my Oct. '04 mildly customized Rocket III with 42'000 k's on it. But the Streety is something else. Sheer FUN. And so incredibly user-friendly

Greetings to all. Jamie

Thumbs up

Me too! From my beloved Legend I look at the new ST3 ( although I´ve not seen any at a short distance) with sort of envy and gladness because if someday I changed my Legend I´m totally convinced that the little Triple would be the successor. Greetings.
Emilio.

Rather old? I've got you beat by a couple of years my friend. The Street is the most entertaining ride a guy can have. You don't need a cup of coffee in the morning if you have a Street Triple to ride.

G'day Mates,

So, I'm about the same vintage, around 50. Are you guys saying that the Street will satisfy even the guys who have had, like me, bigger and more powerful machines in the past?

I've currently got a T3 Sprint Sports (converted to naked style) and I love the mid range, as I'm a bit of a torque junkie. I like to short shift and ride the torque wave.
You can relate to that Jamie, with your Rocket!

Does the Street satisfy in that department or is it all out high revving fun?

Obviously, the power to weight ratio is really good, probably better than my old Sprint.

My step-son is mad keen on getting a Street, I might be swayed too.....

Merry Christmas,

Roden

While the Street loves to wind it up she has plenty of torque. The power to weight ratio and handling characteristics make this bike a really intoxicating ride.

The KiwiRider bike mag had very similar comments on their review of the Street Triple, 'A fun bike that stunts."

It appears to have captured all the attributes of the old Brit bikes in their day, of ease of handling, whereas a lot of the retros have gone heavier and a bit more cumbersome and don't have those same qualities.

Ride on !

The odds are very good that it will. Like Jamie and Aussiebikerdave, I got a Rocket III in 2004 and loved it a lot (so much so that I'm looking forward to buying the same one back from its second owner in a few months). The Street is a different sort of machine, but just as fun, and very easy to grow accustomed to after riding other styles of bike.

What Tbirdnz just said, about the Street capturing the best attributes of Brit bikes in the old days, really sums up what the Street Triple means to me.
