Cool article, nice to see the 675 motor performs in a naked - Thanks!

I had an Fz6 for 3 weeks while some work was done on my Speedy.... Suspension was crap, seat was good, power was ok above 6000. The rest was UJM - nothing bad, nothing special. Fuel economy was the same as my 1050 Speed Triple, which is crap for the FZ6 again!

I wouldn't own one, even as a second bike. I think Kawa's KLR650 would be better, as a second bike

When I first saw the FZ6 i fell in love with its looks ( me being a yamaha man did help )..and i read reviews abt it..they were all not too bad. So when I went for my first test ride I had big ( if not huge) expectations. But the experience was such an anti-climax. I went on to try the GSR which was a huge improvement over FZ6.

Its nice to get my opinions validated by experts. Cant wait to get my striple test ride on the weekend.

Had an FZ6 and did 12,500 miles on it, believe me it doesnt compare to the Street in anyway, apart from wind protection (but only cos mine was the semi fared version)

great test result!

thanks mate, great article.

My best mate rides a Fazer 600, it gets along pretty well when you wind up the revs.

Funny Russ you liked the seat, my mate hated it and has rebuilt the whole rear subframe and made a new seat and new exhaust system.
(he used to race and build his own machines.)

Ah, he'd be used to a plank then - or at least a bit of neoprene. I found the seat, tourer comfortable, but the buzzing of the motor very annoying as was the lack of torque.

Fazer 600 (previous model) is in the opinion of most owners and journos a better bike than the FZ6

My FZ6 could go well as long as the revs where kept @ 8k+
