Steering Damper?

How is steering stability without a steering damper on the Street Triple? Is there any head shake? Glad to see I won't be the only one riding in freezing temperatures. Misery loves company. ;-)

Well, I haven't had it up to Ludicrous Speed yet, but I surely haven't seen any sign of such behavior thus far. This steering is exceedingly neutral, in my view...no tendency to do anything you don't explicitly tell it to do.

Quite good in fact. Of course it's lighter that the Daytona's steering but not at the expense of stability. Jamie

I had a good 'spirited' ride out on Saturday, going down one of my fav local A roads accelerating quite hard in 4th at about 85mph and got a wiggle from the bars.My old gixer would go down that road at 100 + and would never budge an inch. I think the street steers quite a bit quicker than the old bike, so I may look into fitting a damper if it does it a lot again in the near future

Doggy, I've taken it through many a roads now, and have not done over 120 yet, but cannot say I have had the steering issues. I think a steering damper could be a waste of money, as it really does do what you tell it too.

Others may report differently, but I absolutely cannot fault the steering response.

The money would be better spent on the rear shock, but having said that, I have got very used to its behaviour now, and am not sure I will be replacing it any time soon.

I think it caught me by surprise more than scared me tbh. I'm getting used to the rear shock as well now, it doesn't seem to be quite as hard now. Saving up for a pipe or two at the moment, just can't decide which to go for though!, and the small matter of spending £750 for an exhaust 'on a budget bike'. Still lovin it so far though!

The Daytona 675 steering damper does not fit (at least not as a straightforward bolt-on affair) as the whole fork is different. Jamie

Did the shake occur upon acceleration, or deceleration?
