Black or white was the big choice I faced too. The available photos at that time weren't really too helpful. I worried that white would emphasize the normal header discoloration too much, whereas the rather artsy shots of the black ones were so dark that the lines of the bike didn't show up well.
I ended up deciding to emphasize the lines of the bike, so I went with white. It's not some dull housepaint white, by any means. It's a pearl-like finish that takes on subtleties of color from the ambient light. It's fascinating to watch throughout the day. No reason
that should detract from resale value!
Of course, now that we've had some members posting pictures of their black Streets under real-world conditions, I see my worries about black obscuring the lines of the bike were unfounded. The black ones turn out to be tremendously cool too.
But I have no buyer's remorse. Although I've seen Tigers and Speed Triples that looked mighty fine in white, it looks even better on the Street. I'm delighted. In the end, it's up to you, but I bet you'll be plenty happy with your choice. If not, let your wife have the white one and get another one in black for yourself.
