Is there a way to adjust neutral on the bike? I never used to have an issue but, lately I've been having big trouble finding neutral. Which in turn makes going through the ID check to get on base a royal pain in the posterior. Sometimes it's so much trouble, I just shut off the bike...
It doesn't seem to matter whether the bike is hot/cold, and all the other shifts are without issue. 2013 Non-R with the quick-shifter installed. Thanks in advance for any help with my newbish question! :thumb
Your problem finding neutral could be due to a mal-adjusted shifter - too high, or too low.
When did you notice the problem? Is it something that happened suddenly, or did it just seem to sneak up on you? If it was suddenly, unless you can associate it with a specific event - like installing the quickshifter - I can't really help.
For gradual onset of poor shifting, hard neutral finding:
I would guess the clutch isn't fully disengaging. May need to adjust the clutch cable. Or try adjusting the lever position farther out, so you get more cable pull when you grab the clutch lever.
Its amazing the difference, I went in for my 10k service a while back and complained about the same thing, after the adjusted the clutch cable I was shocked with how much more power my bike had as I had just gotten used to it not releasing all the way
