I searched through the Forums this evening looking for some comparisons of exhaust systems offered for the Striples. There is a thread regarding the looks of some of the new systems, but nothing about performance.
My question is three fold, bear with me:
Are the power gains among various manufacturers drastic enough to warrant going with one company over the other?
Is a dyno tune with aftermarket exhaust necessary for the best performance and efficiency? (does one need a tuneboy or PC, etc to do so?)
Is there any benefit, other than weight savings, to go with a single pipe over a dual outlet?
Any general comments regarding the exhaust you've chosen or comparisons you've made would be helpful, thanks!

On the way to my first Streetfighter...
Until my machine has been through the run in period and more companies make cans available I'm not even looking. Setting a bike up with the aid of a dynamometer is always a good way to go. I have a Power Commander III USB on one of my bikes that was dyna tuned and it's been great. I'll ride the Street as is for a while before messing with the engine mapping though. I may like it well enough as is. Only time will tell.
Shakey's right, it's a little early for performance comparisons when relatively few of us have our bikes and even fewer have them broken in yet. Until then, there's no meaningful way to do before-and-after comparisons.
This is a bike which doesn't seem to be about numbers all that much anyway.

although i can't speak from experience (given that i haven't received my striple yet), i've seen it written a few times in performance reviews that the low-boy arrow pipe provides better handling characteristics than the undertail twin cans. something about the center of gravity or weight distribution of that setup is more conducive to racing and cornering than the clunkier high-set twin pipes. i gathered that they were saying that the twin cans make the bike too top heavy but my technical knowledge is limited so i can't be sure.
I think that the Arrow low pipe setup is a love-it-or-hate-it package. Personally, I have always enjoyed the way the Speedys sound with the Arrow system, and the weight savings they bring on is an added bonus. Hopefully Arrow will come out with a nice low pipe configuration for the 675 as well. In searching the web, there aren't too many resources yet.

I can imagine a completely outrageous low pipe with an outlet on either side, just past the foot pegs and coming off a single underslung can. It would probably be really loud, really hot on the feet, and completely impractical, but it would look great.
